The Weary Road

Author: Violet Jacob

The weary road is lang an' grey,
The nicht is wearin' late,

But the licht that lies in the hame fireside,
It will guide me through the gate.

The weary road is lang an' grey,
An' the win's they blaw fu' cauld,

But the hert that kens the hameward way,
It will aye be bricht an' bauld.
