The Haars

Author: Violet Jacob

The haars are on the sea the nicht,
An' the win's doon in the west,

An' the weary sea's on a weary nicht,
An' the shore has gane tae rest.

But the lichts are glintin' far awa',
Whaur the ships gae sailin' by,

An' the haars are thick on the weary sea,
An' I wish that you were nigh.
