The Passing Cloud

By Russell Hilliard Loines

A cloud drifts by on the summer wind, It casts a shadow on the land, And as it sails across the sky It seems to move with gentle hand. The passing cloud is soft and light, It changes shape with every breeze, And as it floats above the earth It brings a momentary ease.
