Dear children, when I am no more, You’ll think of me in days of yore; You’ll think how dearly you were loved, And how your hearts my love have moved. You’ll think of every tender care, Of every sorrow I would share; And when my voice no more you hear, You’ll shed for me the silent tear. But weep not long, dear children, weep; For I am only gone to sleep; And if the Saviour be your friend, In heaven we shall meet again.
